What is Mammoplasty Surgery?
Mammoplasty means breast surgery and actually has two types:
Breast augmentation mammoplasty:
In augmentation mammoplasty surgery, is a surgery to increase breast size which involves placing breast implants under breast tissue or chest muscles.
Reduction mammoplasty:
The main goal in reduction mammoplasty is procedure used to remove excess fat, tissue and skin from the breasts and reduce the volume of the breast.

Before mammoplasty, your plastic surgeon will likely check the following:
- Evaluation of medical history and general health. In fact, when the medical tests are done and there is no drug and medical prohibition, then the surgical process can be done.

All incisions are marked and explained before surgery. There are different methods for how to perform the surgical process, but its selection is based on the assessment of conditions, priorities and facilities. These differences include the incisions, the tissue to be removed, and the tissue to be placed as the basis of the new breast.
All you need to know after mammoplasty:
The duration of surgery takes about 3 to 4 hours and the patient is monitored by the medical team. The dressings are removed after a few days and the patient needs home care. There are important examinations that are performed on post-operative wounds and tissues, as well as dead blood and breast swelling and tenderness.
The treatment process requires wearing special clothes to support and keep the breasts in proper conditions and take care of them. This condition and life restrictions last for about 4 weeks, although one week after the operation you can return back to work and normal life.
In the first days after the operation, straining, bending and lifting objects should be avoided. Because it may cause swelling and even bleeding. It is better to use a special bra for a few weeks after the operation to remove the swelling. The suture is gradually removed one week to 14 days after the operation with the opinion of the surgeon.
Resuming daily activities:
Depending on the patient’s occupation, most patients are able to return to work within 2 weeks, but in general, it is recommended to take serious care of the breasts for up to 6 months.
