What is Chin Liposuction?
Chin liposuction surgery, or chin correction, is a cosmetic procedure that aims to remove excess fat under the chin and contour the neck and jawline to make the jaw angles more prominent. This process involves making small incisions under the chin and using a cannula to suck out unwanted fat. This method is also known as submental liposuction or neck liposuction.
Chin liposuction is typically performed under local anesthesia and involves minimal recovery time. This procedure is a popular option for people who struggle with a bulky chin or excess neck fat that doesn’t respond to diet and exercise.
Chin liposuction procedure in Iran
Local anesthesia is injected into several areas of the skin and neck. Once the skin is numb, a small incision is made under the chin (submental incision). Additional incisions may be made on the sides of the chin.
The surgeon inserts the liposuction catheter, which looks like a thin hollow rod, through the incision. A catheter is a long, thin tube with a diameter corresponding to a part of the body that is inserted into a vein or cavity. The cannula is moved in different directions under the skin of the chin and neck to extract fat. After removing enough fat, the catheter is removed from the chin and neck area. Small skin incisions are closed using 1-2 thin sutures.
This method is suitable for younger patients with skin elasticity. In older patients, there is a risk of residual skin laxity. In patients over the age of 45, the surgeon often combines subcutaneous liposuction with a neck lift. A neck lift removes excess skin and tightens and shaves the chin and neck.
Chin liposuction in Shiraz can improve the appearance of the neck and jawline and help create a more prominent and youthful facial contour. This method can be done alone or in combination with other facial rejuvenation methods such as facelift or neck lift to achieve the desired results. In the following, we will examine the points that you should do during this process:
- First of all, the dermatologist and cosmetologist will provide detailed information on care before and after chin liposuction to you, dear beauty seekers.
- Patients who smoke are advised to quit smoking at least two weeks before the date of chin lipoplasty. In fact, smoking has harmful effects on blood circulation and slows down the healing process.
- Also, all prescribed medications will be checked by your doctor. Aspirin and drugs containing aspirin should be stopped before and after the operation. Aspirin and NSAIDs interfere with the body’s natural clotting process and may cause bleeding complications after surgery. If you need pain relief after surgery, paracetamol is recommended.
- After the operation, you can go home but you should not drive the same day.
- Be careful that the surgeon contours the chin and jaw area by removing excess fat deposits. A neck splint is then placed after the operation to ensure proper healing and shaping of the operation area. The gauze should be worn continuously for the first week afterward.
